Woman demands cookie shop bake her favorite flavor that’s not on the menu, argues with staff, and leaves planning to return when her “preferred” manager can cater to her cookie cravings: ‘Why can’t we make them? Because they’re not on the menu’

  • No the cookie store won’t bake a fresh batch of cookies not on the menu just for you

A tired bakery worker in an apron stands behind the counter with her hand on her forehead, looking completely overwhelmed.
  • I tried a new "cookies of the week" store and this lady came in disappointed they didn't have a croissant cookie.
  • They did have them but it was a red velvet flavor. She wanted their chocolate chip one that I guess they have pretty often but not this week.
  • She called her husband who didn't want red velvet. This was the conversation... Lady: Do you have croissant cookies?
  • Worker: Yes red velvet this week Lady: But not the regular one? Are you making more?
  • A stressed bakery worker in an apron stands behind the counter, pressing her fingers to her temples as she looks off in frustration.
  • Worker: They're not on the menu this week Lady: But could you make a batch? Is the manager or owner here?
  • {Insert manager's name} made a fresh batch just for me last time I asked Another manager comes out: No we don't do that ma'am Lady: Are you sure?
  • I'm willing to wait, why can't you make them? Manager: Because they're not on the menu, we don't have all the ingredients for that flavor, and we're not allowed Lady: When will {manager she wants} be in?
  • Manager: Monday Lady: Ok I'll come back when he's here.
  • Moneia Although if they're baking most of the day "Manager made me a fresh batch" could well have been the Manager saying that they were the next batch going in to the oven, just interpreted through the sooper-speshul 'there's only me' filter
  • OP StumblinThroughLife Willing to bet this was the case if it's true
  • dnabsuh1 It would be a shame if your store could have red velvet croissants as the flavor of the week next week.
  • OP StumblinThroughLife I thought the same. Really hope they don't bring chocolate chip back until new years.
  • NYC-WhWmn-ov50 Does she have any idea how long it makes to make even one small batch of cookies from scratch?
  • OP StumblinThroughLife Yeah I was like I know she said she's willing to wait but that's be a long wait. And she wanted the croissant cookies so they're potentially baking bread and cookie dough
  • hoosiergirl1962 [Googling: what the hell is a croissant cookie]
  • OP StumblinThroughLife Official name is "crookie" for google
  • PossibilityOrganic12 Can you explain the concept of the croissant cookie?
  • OP StumblinThroughLife Google crookie. It's a croissant with a cookie baked into it
  • Winterwynd Assuming she's not lying and {manager} did actually fold to her demand last time, \THIS\ is why management needs stand strong and not give in to ridiculous demands like this. They get a 'yes' just one time, even if you say just this once, and they will try to get special favors that are a major inconvenience and make a scene when told no every time afterwards for the rest of eternity. Do not feed the Karens!
  • Acaliah Wolfsong I used to work for a well known local diner that has a soup of the day menu. Usually their "famous" chili and a rotating other soup ( like pea soup, navy bean, chicken noodle, broccoli and cheese) occasionally when we wouldn't have the ingredients for the usual soup on the schedule one of the cooks would make her taco soup with what we had in the building. We ended up having several regulars get mad because we didn't have the taco soup that week because it was an "unauthorized"
  • Stock-Cell1556 Or they happened to have some leftover from the last time they were on the menu that they'd stuck in the freezer, and they "baked" (defrosted) them and claimed they made them just for this Very Special Person. I have seen managers do stuff like this. I once told a customer at an upscale seafood restaurant that we were out of the mahi for the evening. She pouted and asked to speak to Jackson. It just so happened that Jackson had had the chef put away a piece of the mahi for his own
  • Hyche862 I'm only authorized to make a custom batch if you are buying the whole batch and that must be ordered 24 hours in advanced paid in full at time of order would you like to place the order now? No what am I supposed to do with more than 2 cookies?
  • ZestfullyStank I always caution guest facing workers from over explaining. No, we are not able to do that. Anything more than that, it's the manager's job. Manger isn't there, give them a card or an email address or whatever. When people hear know and you start explaining all the details, guests aren't listening to logic. They are looking for ways around the reasons you are listing. I (as a bartender at the time) was at my wit's end with someone and that was my response "are you going to believe
